Semi-Intensive Therapy

Il Anesthesia and Semi-Intensive Care Service supports patients throughout all phases of the treatment process: from pre-operative assessment to post-operative monitoring.

- radiological examinations with contrast medium They are performed in safe conditions thanks to the presence of the team of anesthetists, with particular attention to patients at high risk of allergies.

Preoperative evaluation and anesthesiology visits

Before surgery or diagnostic procedures using contrast medium, the Anesthesia Service performs a thorough clinical evaluation that includes:

collection of anamnesis and any chronic pathologies
analysis of the diagnostic tests available
informational interview on the type of surgery, the planned anesthesia and possible complications
signature of informed consent relating to the anaesthetic technique identified as most suitable
compilation of the anesthesiology medical record, with reports, specialist evaluation and possible prescription of pre-anaesthesia

Assistance during the operation

During the procedure, the anesthesiologist performs the anesthesia procedure and monitors the patient's vital signs (blood pressure, heart rate, oxygenation) continuously.
The team is trained to manage any clinical changes and to ensure that intraoperative safety conditions are maintained.

Post-operative management

In the postoperative phase, the presence of the anesthetist allows for monitoring of clinical progress and collaboration with the surgical team in managing care needs.

Semi-Intensive Care Unit

The department has 4 equipped beds for:

continuous monitoring of hemodynamic and electrocardiographic parameters
treatments of non-invasive ventilation (NIMV)

The nursing staff has specific training in emergency management and cardiopulmonary resuscitation, as well as skills in invasive procedures such as:

blood pressure monitoring
placement of central venous catheters
placement of peripheral venous catheters (midline, PICC)
